I am your host Rainna SwiftSage

Jesus replied to the Devil in Matthew 4:4 "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” that so make sure you get your Bible study on before you hop in game!

What did I learn in the bible this week?

Favorite Bible Verse?

I found and shared a graphic online today that said “God is not who YOU think he is. He is what HE says he is”.

And I thought how true that really is. I know I was guilty of molding God into what I thought he was. Someone who loved me and everything I did. Don’t get me wrong, Jesus DOES LOVE US, but he's not cool with everything we do. I, like many, would cherry pick Bible verses to back me up. I would say ohhhhh Jesus made wine at that wedding in John 2:5 so I could justify me getting trashed. No where in the Bible does it say , Hey folks! I turned water into wine so you can get wasted! He never said that, yet I used to be one of those people who used that story to justify my bad life choices. I have since been shown the difference between the wine that's referred to as a new wine being Juice and fermented wine being actual alcoholic wine, but that's another road entirely. It was easier to change what the Bible said to what I wanted it to be or say so I would not have to be changed. I also felt nothing wrong with some of the stuff I would watch on TV… I would justify it by saying Oh its only a TV Show. But would I watch it if God was sitting next to me ? OH HO HO NOOOO Like the show The Magicians on the SYFY channel. A couple years ago, on another podcast I actually described it saying, “if an X rated Adult Film Married Harry Potter and they had a kid, the kids name would be The Magicians and its crib would be the Syfy channel. I have since stopped watching it due to its graphic content and clear occult content and leanings. I definitely wouldn't watch it with Jesus in the same house let alone the same room. The Bible doesn't say anything that would approve of me watching it. In fact it says in 1 Corinthians chapter 10: verse 31 that,”...whatever we do, do all to the glory of God.” That's a huge reason why I don't watch Horror movies. Would I sit on a couch with God and watch his children, his creations torn limb from limb? Do you think he would enjoy seeing a demonic looking creature chasing his children down with chain saws and the like? Nope! I do think that the Devil would enjoy it and I bet he has a hand in creating films like that. Movies and shows like that definitely don't bring Glory to God am I right? So I know watching them does not bring glory to God. I know that when God convicts us in areas we need to work on, it isnt always easy, but once we get our pride out of the way, once we get real with ourselves like God is getting real with us, only good can come from it! As christians, we desire to be more Christ like. If we have to twist his words and recreate him in our hearts and minds to avoid having to change our ways, to avoid being convicted...to avoid being molded by the hands of our creator...is that giving Glory to God?I think we all know the answer.

I want to wrap up this daily bread with the bible verse

Isaiah 64:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

But now, O Lord,

You are our Father;

We are the clay, and You our potter;

And all we are the work of Your hand.

With each gentle nudge in the right direction, we are being molded into the beautiful children of Christ we were intended to be in Genesis. We are not to mold our Heavenly Father, we are to trust in him to mold us. He is the potter and we are the clay.

According to an Article on BleepingComputer.com https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/steam-zero-day-vulnerability-affects-over-100-million-users/

The Steam game client for Windows has a zero-day privilege escalation vulnerability

This is said to allow an attacker with limited permissions to run a program as an administrator

In The article they describe a Privilege escalation vulnerability as “bugs that enable a user with limited rights to launch an executable with elevated, or administrative privileges.”

This is said to be a huge risk that could be used by Malware to perform a variety of unwanted activities.

In an article on MAssivelyOP.com https://massivelyop.com/2019/08/10/researchers-discover-nasty-steam-security-loophole-that-valve-allegedly-initially-brushed-off/ they quoted MOP’s Andy McAdams as he explained what the exploit does. He stated that it “ basically provides a link to Steam that Steam thinks it needs to run, even though it could be a virus or keylogger or botnet or whatever, and runs it as System. So now that baddie program is running in the background, doing all kinds of stuff that should require you to explicitly say is OK [with User Access Control permissions] without your knowing it’s happening. It’s not an especially difficult exploit to use either.”

According to the Bleeping Computer Article tis exploit was reported to Valves Valve’s Bug Bounty Program on HackerOne but they did not reward a bug bounty or even say if they were going to have it fixed. It was also reported that they told the researchers they were not allowed to report it.

Bleep Computer.com said they reached out to steam for further comment and had not heard back. I have combed their twitter and they have only been advertising games to sell to us, but not commenting on the us using their platform safely and without being exploited.

That's not cool at all. 99.9% of the games I play are on steam. This might be the time to stop and amp up for WOW Classic.

Twitch has been in the news a lot the past couple of weeks.

First we had the Streamer who tossed her cat over her head and was caught giving it vodka on stream and was reported to PETA

Then there was a popular ASMR streamer who was thought to have said a racial slur, but I havent heard if it was confirmed or not.

THen Ninja said he was leaving Twitch to join Mixer and that it wasn't solely for the money he was offered to do it, but to get back to his roots in gaming.

Then Twitch decided to start showcasing others streams on Ninjas Old Twitch Channel Page.

Then Twitch was caught streaming Triple X Content on that channel

and now Bernie Sanders is working with stream Labs to reach out to the gamers.

The point of Sanders’ stream is to connect with people where they are. “It’s another opportunity, I think, to tap into a potentially supportive audience that we may not be hitting other ways,” says Josh Miller-Lewis, Sanders’ director of digital comms. “Our goal with Twitch is to not only let people know what we’re doing on the campaign every day, and what Bernie’s doing — but also hear from them, and bring their opinion into what we’re trying to do and into the political process.”

So far, Sanders’ channel has mostly broadcast town halls and rallies; the candidate himself rarely shows up on streams. Even so, 70,000 people followed Sanders’ account on Twitch in the first 24 hours they were on the platform, and 20,000 people tuned in for the first Democratic debate on their channel, according to his communication staff.
