Riot settles class-action suit with employees who alleged sexism, discrimination
Riot Games and the plaintiffs in the class-action gender discrimination lawsuit against the company have reached a settlement
According to an article in Polygon, It is said that both sides called the agreement “a strong, fair outcome that helped change a studio culture alleged to be hostile to women employees.”
The Nintendo Direct presentation confirmed that Overwatch is coming to Switch.
It lands on October 15 and will cost $40.
Overwatch launched in May 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
This is the second Blizzard game for Nintendo’s home console/portable hybrid after Diablo III’s 2018 port. T
his version will include support for motion controls.
Razer made a case for cooling iPhones while gaming
There are two versions of the case
The Slim and the Pro
The Pro has added protection for up to a 10-foot drop.
The company’s launched The Artech Covers on September 10
They will be available for the Razer Phone 2 as well as all of Apple’s new iPhones.
The Slim runs $30 and the Pro is $40.
GameStop to close up to 200 stores
According to an article PC Gamer,
During the Gamestop Q2 earnings call , GameStop CFO James Bell announced that they “are on track to close between 180 and 200 underperforming stores globally by the end of this fiscal year."
They also stated they are in the middle of implementing what's being called a "reboot"
This involves
Shutting down ThinkGeek's online store
laying off 170 employees
Laying off several staff members of Game Informer, their in house magazine.
Bell was also quoted saying that the majority of of GameStop stores worldwide are profitable, but they have a clear opportunity to improve their overall profitability by de-densifying our chain.
It was also said that this year's closures won't be the last of them.
This year GameStop posted a loss of $415.3 million.
Civilization VI (6) has New online multiplayer mode
In their September update they announced the update also includes a new multiplayer mode called Red Death.
In this new mode, you are to try to outwit and outmaneuver other players as you all race to board the last space ship off the planet.
The new turn-based battle royale mode, Red Death, is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland of poisoned oceans, ruined cities, and a shrinking circle of deadly radiation. Red Death supports up to 12 players per match (though you can play with as few as two), and you can play against other people, against AI opponents, or a mix of both. Red Death is free if you already own Civ 6.

Both third-person action games will be available for PlayStation 4 from Sept. 3 to Sept. 30 through PS Plus.
